Crashdïet: Sweden's Resilient Sleaze Rock Titans Roll On with New Frontman

Crashdïet, the iconic Swedish sleaze rock band, proves that rock 'n' roll isn't for the faint-hearted. Formed in Stockholm in 2000, they've navigated a tumultuous music scene with relentless energy, despite numerous lineup changes and personal tragedies. Drawing inspiration from glam metal legends like Skid Row, Guns N’ Roses, and KISS, Crashdïet has cemented their place in the rock world with six powerful albums.

The band's journey hasn't been easy. The tragic loss of original frontman Dave Lepard in 2006 could have ended their story, but instead, they forged ahead. Subsequent vocalists, including Oliver Twisted, Simon Cruz, and Gabriel Keyes, each brought their own flair. Now, with John Elliot of sleaze rock band Confess stepping in as the new lead vocalist, Crashdïet is revitalized and ready to roar.

Embarking on their latest tour through Finland, the current lineup—John Elliot (vocals), Martin Sweet (guitar), Peter London (bass), and Michael Sweet (drums)—showcases their resilience and passion. Their raw, loud, and dirty sound continues to captivate fans old and new, proving that chaos only makes them stronger.

Produced with modern punch but rooted in classic Scandinavian hard rock, the record captures themes of nightlife, rebellion and chaos. Led by songwriter Martin Sweet with vocals by John Elliot, the album blends 80s-inspired sleaze with contemporary production—perfect for modern hard rock, workout and high-energy rock playlists.
